Help Fight Cancer Like A Boss

like-a-bossI’ll just get straight to the point.

I’ve created team “Like A Boss” for the Halton’s Extreme Race and Obstacle Scramble (H.E.R.O.S.). It’s a 5k obstacle course race that takes place on Saturday, July 19th (one week after my triathlon!) and the money raised goes towards cancer research, improving cancer treatments, preventing cancer and saving lives–and so much more.

That’s right. I want you to sign up for team Like A Boss and run the obstacle course with me because life is way more fun when you do things together.

But Sharon, why is it called Like A Boss?

I’m so glad you asked. It’s called Like A Boss because you’re going to:

Run up hills, like a boss.
Splash through water, like a boss.
Take on obstacles, like a boss.
Support your teammates, like a boss.
Cross the finish line, like a boss.

And at the end of the race you’ll go home knowing you conquered obstacles you didn’t think possible while raising money to help people who are overcoming obstacles harder than any wall you’ll have to climb at the H.E.R.O.S.

So you may have a few questions, like: Do I need to be fit to race Like a Boss?

The answer is, you shouldn’t be laying around on a couch for the next six months and then think you can run it. Bad things will happen if you do that, so you should be moderately fit. BUT I will let you know that my motto is “No one gets left behind.” If you’re having trouble with an obstacle, I’m not going to leave you hanging (and you can take that quite literally because I think there are some walls we have to climb).

Even if you don’t join team Like A Boss, you can always donate and cheer us (dear gawd, I hope it’s an us and not just a me) from the sidelines.

Also, you should know I think last year there was beer involved after the race. Just in case you needed that as an incentive.

What are you waiting for? Help fight cancer Like A Boss.
