I know you’re all waiting with bated breath to find out the winner of the Warrior Dash race because y’all wanna see some of this action going on in adult versions.
But before you get excited, there was a slight change of plans in the whole betting scheme. This is called ‘life’ people. The thing is, two weeks before the race, Dara hurt her knee, like, really bad. And even though I would have loved to have made her run it anyway because she’s all beautiful and tall and blonde, I couldn’t. Because Dara’s life is training people and you can’t be an effective trainer if you can’t do the shit you’re trying to teach.
Let me alleviate any doubts in your mind….Dara felt TERRIBLE about this. She was willing to come and run anyway but I kaboshed the idea because I’m all kinds of kind.
Also, I felt I had a better chance of winning if she wasn’t there.
Anyhoo…we came up with a new plan. If I could run the dash in under 1 hour 15 minutes (I can run 5 k in 30 minutes so we based it on that), I would win. If it was over that time, Dara would win.
But before we get on with that, this was all for Zack’s Room and I’m proud to say we raised $610.00. Dara and I may have started this bet but you all, the ones who placed bets and raised money, are the Warrior Moms.
I’m forever grateful for your generosity. And those of you who still owe me money, you know who you are. And if you don’t? I know who you are.
And so….the winner of the bet with a time of 1:05:10.55 is *insert happy dance here* me.
BUT…. you didn’t think this was gonna end here, did you?
I have some certain rules and life lessons I abide by one of those lessons is you never leave your friends hanging.
So Dara, I too will be posting my reenactment of my picture with you. I wouldn’t be a good speed skating mom or a friend if I didn’t. Plus you’d do the same for me in a heart beat.
I hope your knee gets better soon.
I also have to give a big shout out to Rosedale Livery who provided a car and driver for me, Lisa and Laura to get up to the race. Thank you for getting us there in comfort and safely. You made a fantastic day even more incredible.
